We love making our living spaces look cute. But for us here at RH, we care a lot in the story, meaning, and impact our home buys have. That's why we've done a deep dive into exploring the numerous Black-owned home decor brands out there and unsheathing our absolute favorite pieces that are making us hit "check out." These Black-owned businesses specialize in everything from bed sheets to furniture to glassware, though this list is in no way comprehensive of the fantastic talent out there.

Alongside the popularity of the 15 Percent Pledge, where major retailers like West Elm, Nordstrom,  and Macy's have promised to handed 15% of shelf space to BIPOC brands, many retailers have rendered collections to make it easy and fast to observe established and emerging brands. We've tried to make it easy, too, with a list of places to observe Black-owned brands at the end of our finds.

1. Estelle Colored Glass

Even if you're a minimalist, you'll be a color convert after seeing Estelle Colored Glass. The gorgeous, handblown glasses, decanters, and cake stands come in an array of candy-colored hues. If you're not silly them for a dinner party with friends, these deserve a permanent spot on your bar cart. The concern was named to honor the founder's grandmother, Estelle.

3. Goodee

Founded by twin brothers, both with design backgrounds, Goodee has developed into a marketplace offering indispensable homewares and lifestyle products for better living, with spotlights on attempts these brands support like gender advocacy or heritage craft preservation. Within the site, is a collection of Black artisan brands, including woven pendant lamps from Golden Editions, the most beautiful selection of everyday housewares made in Kenya by Siafu Home, and wooden tools inspired by Nigerian kitchens from the The DÅ Brand.

A sustainably-focused furniture commercial that's BIPOC-founded? Yes, please! The Essential Sofa from Sabai is apt luxe and constructed out of FSC-certified wood, domestic maple, CertiPUR-US certified high resiliency foam, 100% recycled fiberfill, and upholstered in recycled velvet or upcycled poly. Its closed-loop initiatives make it easy to have your sofa repaired, and when you're ready for a new look, to sell it on its secondhand marketplace.

6. Linoto

Linoto 100% linen sheet sets

Linoto came to be in 2007 when Jason Evege, with a background in New York's Garment District, was seeking well-made linen sheets without the $1K tag tag. Now, the company makes linen sheets, towels, kitchen towels, and even boxer shorts, offering one of the vastest gleaming selections we've ever seen. The linen is sourced from mills in Italy and Belgium beforehand being handcrafted in Westchester County, New York.

We're drooling over this one from Aya Paper Co. that's made out of recycled paper so it's cute and kind to the planet! In fact, one of the company's core values is sustainability, and it uses low-waste packaging, works with local manufacturers, and gives back to Black communities.

Atlanta-based Rochelle Porter has an eye for the bold, with her graphic collection of kitchen linens and pillows, which incorporates details from both Scandinavian and West Aftican do. Each piece is sewn in a woman-owned factory in Atlanta and printed with eco-friendly dyes. You can also shop her Etsy for athleisure sets.

10. Bolé Road Textiles

Bolé Road Textiles Aman 26x26 Pillow, Dusty Rose

Ethiopian-born Hana Getachew phoned her company after the main street in her birth town of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The name and brand were inspired by the musty and culture of the buzzing community space the road represents. The NY-based studio combines ancient weaving traditions with a recent global aesthetic. All pillows, throws, and rugs are handwoven by Ethiopian artisans, including the Dusty Rose Aman Pillow pictured.

For the 2000s Planter

With a bunch of adorable hand-painted pots, you'll be having a real hard time choosing one from PepperPalm. The goal of Pepper, the founder, is to "create art for you and your plants." While we can't get enough of this Y2K-inspired planter, there are some other abstract and squiggly pieces that have caught our eyes, too.
